It's none of the west coast three o'clock at the White House where President just held a news conference with his Canadian counterpart justin trudeau president shop getting questioned about the greatest national security threats we face which is especially interesting considering its the trouble that is national security adviser faces a source tells FOX to you that general michael Flynn had to apologize the device president the united states over his contact with the Russian and as for talk that's Len could find himself out of a job the word from that source inside the White House is not too fast also North Korea testing the web with another brand new missile launch with new capabilities if the country claims are correct this represents a dramatic step forward in technology and a new danger for the rest of the world.
So what's the plan from the Pentagon let's get to it pretty reporting live from the fox news and good afternoon a world of politics and white house entry coming in just minutes but there is major news developing right now and there is an extreme emergency in the state of California we're waiting for a news conference again moments from now from officials about an hour north of Sacramento where a hundred 88,000 people have been ordered to evacuate their homes.
The problem is a very serious one and there it is.
That was the largest dam in America it is threatening to unleash floodwaters unto a vast area officials say the oroville dams main spillway eroded during heavy rain last week the dam itself is enormous.
From the pictures it's hard to tell but it 770 feet tall.
That's taller than a 50-story building it holds back Lake Oroville a man-made lake that supplies water to about 20 million Californians and farmland Central Valley among the most fertile land in all of America there's an enormous spillway that's still way at the top of this damn is about a mile long and there it is there's a real problem it constantly sends water from the lake above to the Feather River down below but last week that whole popped up in the still.
Way hard to tell how big things are from the picture right but this whole is bigger than a football field and 23 stories beat and it's growing now there's an emergency spillway right next to the concrete spillway next to this one over here is a sort of earthen spillway that one is also damaged if the emergency spillway failed and they were great concerns that it would it can send a 30-foot wall of water rushing for neighborhood homes and businesses to be washed away along with everything and everyone in them you can really see how massive this thing is how much water it could be capable of unleashing again the damaged more than 50 stories high and the lake is the second largest man-made lake in all of California supplying water to those 20 million people i mentioned that yesterday the lake was full to capacity now it's gone down just a little bit so the water isn't going down that damage spillway workers are racing to make repairs but the lake will fill up again and the waters will rush again and most likely very soon forecasters say a new round of storms is setting its sights on that very area rainfall expected begin Wednesday night and every day for a week after so the California National Guard report it has notified every one of its twenty three thousand soldiers and airmen to be ready to employ that's huge news this is the first time there's been an alert like this for the entire California National Guard since the riots in Los Angeles 25 years ago after a jury acquitted for police officers in the beating of rodney king so for the millions of people downriver this is very very serious and Claudia calendars live for it oroville california this afternoon quality what's the word from officials oh well separate we are waiting for a press update from our state water officials we are at the top of the oral dam in there is progress to report first of all that emergency spillway that you talk about that is holding and the lake level continues to clock down to about eight hundred 96 feet that's about four feet below capacity which is 901 feet so dropping at about four inches per hour.
Thanks to what's happening here over my right shoulder they have doubled the releases using the main still wave which also has suffered significant erosion damage that you can see the spray there as the water just powers against this concrete this is a dramatic site water is gushing about 100,000 cubic feet per second.
Now the goal is to get the lake level down another 50 or Sophie so there's enough capacity to hold the rain that is set to arrive later this week now this is much colder system moving in so we're not expecting to see as much about heavy downpours that we thought last week but there is a lot of work to be done here Sheppard and it needs to be done fact that they're using helicopters to try to make repairs on this enormous hole that is correct Shepherd that is also happening right over here to my right this is a staging area for a lot of the heavy equipment as well as for the media so you're going to see a lot of other at cameras and lights and but all night long and this morning convoys of trucks have been coming here delivering huge boulders which are being used to fill up those white super sacks and the plan is to use these helicopters to drop the facts into the holes on that emergency spillway to shore up dozens of heavy-duty facts you can see sitting here at the ready now this is how levies are often repaired and this patch of job is essentially a bit of trial and error because this emergency spillway had never been used before so we are waiting for these helicopters to take off with the fact and do this passive job it's essentially like the sandbags on steroids and probably only when this emergency spillway short up and fix it when the emergency evacuation order will be lifted separate obviously the concern is that they lift the evacuation order allow everybody to come back to their homes and businesses and then we have a catastrophe everybody have to evacuate again so that is where we are now but again there is progress report because that make level is really dropping at least until the rains Thomas so they can get it done Claudia thank you Maggie relatives with chaos we evacuated yesterday she left with her family and 15 of them are currently sharing for hotel rooms.
She's on the phone with us now what what's your concern level today back I'm not you know it's it's hard to say like part of me feel better knowing that the emergency spillway isn't being used currently but I don't know there's there's always that thought the back of your head that something is going to happen and and I don't know I'm just trying to kind of take it step-by-step here and stay in tune with the news and listen to what's happening and and checking with other family members and see how they're doing elsewhere so I don't know that's kind of why not might help you understood we were looking among now we're looking at the game a live look inside the news conference waiting for official to come updates on it again the reason this is our top story today is a hundred 88,000 people had to evacuate the entirety of the California National Guard has been put on alert in addition they're concerned about this emergency spillway hoping that the lake levels don't write anymore to put all of this land in peril should we get new information out of his news conference will bring it to you right away there is very big national news today North Korea stirring up concerned with a missile launch that appears to demonstrate brand new technology new to them anyway the Pentagon warning it can respond to any attack on the United States and its allies while the president's national security advisor issues of its own we're now learning general michael Flynn has apologized to the vice president of the United States for what he told the vp about his talked with the Russian ambassador the central question did michael Flynn lie and before the lie when he was a private citizen its blend tell the Russians not to worry about the sanctions which is the top administration will list them and further why would the Trump administration list them did that have something to do with their meddling in our election very serious allegation and they're coming up.
The matter of President Trump national security adviser his discussions with the Russian ambassador had taken a new and disturbing turn today a senior west wing source tells FOX News michael Flynn has apologised vice president spent the reason last month like President pencil box news sunday that slant assured him he never discussed sanctions with Russia with that country's ambassador to the US before President Trump took office that will be assurance the sanctions were not discussed it was Christmas greetings now it appears that's not through it all last week 9 current and former US officials told The Washington Post newspaper the conversation did in fact happen that the United States know that happened but that intelligence agencies were listening and recording and that conversation was potentially illegal then a spokesman tried to dial back lens denial after the revelation that plan had been caught by us intelligence spokesman plan had no recollection of discussing the sections but can't be sure whether they actually came up so from no we didn't talk about that too i really don't remember and yesterday at top White House aide refused to say whether President truck still trusted Flynn the White House did not i give you anything to say other than that give me a general anything to say that you've acted so you cannot say yeah whatever happened answer check the president still have confidence in his national security but it's not for me to tell you what's in the president's mind that the question for the president to eliminate chief of staff the president has been publicly ask the president hasn't publicly comment here's the accusation a nutshell President Obama levied sanctions on Russia for meddling in the u.s. election on the same day that happened then private citizen Michael plane called the Russian ambassador or spoke with him on the phone at least he said they did not discuss the sanctions then it now appears they did because it's recorded the question is if len tell the Russians at the future trust administration would lift the sanctions once in power after all the Russians had just attempted to help him get elected president further is that the reason the Russians didn't react American intelligence had predicted as i mentioned the president hasn't spoken on.
Matter Jennifer Griffin's on this she's at the Pentagon this afternoon what are you hearing from your sort about a well the White House about Flynn well Shepherd what's truly unbelievable is that none of the White House correspondence ask the president whether he still have confidence in general plan at the press conference that just find it finished.
We're now hearing that Flint status is very much up in the air I spoke to sources close to flood this morning when asked about rumors that Flynn would be gone by the end of the week this source said wrong and said they would strongly push back on that rumor describing it as gossip and palace intrigue a senior west wing source tells me when met with Vice President pimp this morning and apologize according to the source of vice president accepted flames apology the President had a two-hour meeting with Flynn this morning which he turned to Flynn and asked his advice on various national security issues i'm told this West Wing official told me the but the President and vice-president were not happy but he is not going to be gone by the end of the week.
Flynn was at the president's side of you saw all weekend chef if the inner circle I'm told is for people in the White House splinters in that inner circle that's what we know at this time but this is a very fluid situation and the decision really is left up to one person and that person is President child yep so that were clear on the timeline first the Russians metal in their election in an attempt to help President drop become president job after that President Obama flat sanctions on the Russians for meddling in our lecture which we call been doing on that same day general plans with the time with it a citizen of private citizens no I remember the military certainly wasn't in office but that's all Trump was an office yet call the Russian ambassador to the united states that they don't worry about the sanction then the Russians didn't react in the way that our intelligence had thought they would given the information and all of this wondering if they're put quid pro quo.
Thanks for helping us with that now we're not going to help now we're not gonna make a deal with those sanctions it-it-it that's the timeline that there's real trouble isn't there well one clarification chef we are told that when he spoke to when Flint spoke to the Russian ambassador on december twenty night the same day that those 35 Russians effective five were kicked out of the country and sanctions were imposed for the meddling in the election that was what President Obama was still in charge that phone call a Flynn changed his story last week and said he could not be sure that sanctions did not come up during that phone call even though he had told vice-president pence that they had not come up a plan has not admitted or said that he said that the sanctions will be lifted what we're basing that on our some transcripts that nobody in the press have seen but there have been reports from former intelligence officials who say that there are FBI transcripts of the phone call between Flynn and the Russian ambassador and so that's why the story started to change at the end of last week private citizens aren't allowed to have a discussion with with representatives of other nations that the law that's been around since like the 1700 right that's correct 1799 the logan act the problem is nobody's ever been prosecuted for that acts but it if there have been discussions on this with my understanding of Logan Echolls put in place back in the day the Washington went there were a bunch of founding fathers all wandering around some of them were elected in charge and some of the more than the idea what people want to our elected to do anything from trying to do anything and you're surfing the power of the elected when we were a new country then and since then as far as we know nobody's ever really tried to do anything quite like this as far as we know right well this is certainly unprecedented I think what has angered many in the that White House inner circle around president Trump is the fact that it appears that my clan did lie to the vice president and that is what really is i think causing so much consternation us by the president's side all weekend down at mar-a-lago when with that meeting with the you know the weekend with the Prime Minister of Japan and he managed the North Korea crisis but back in the White House this morning he met with the President and vice-president and I'm told they were not happy that this situation was consuming so much airtime what this potential trouble for president Trump national security adviser comes as US officials tell fox news north Korea has successfully tested a mid-range missile.
But this is different than in the past they say that's what happened on Saturday near the city of song which is about seven miles north of the capital pump Pyongyang they say this missile flew about 300 miles and crashed into the sea of japan North Korean officials say the dictator Kim jong-un was at the test site they released this picture of him.
Well looking at things which is you know far for the course but in holding cigarette there he says the test used a new kind of fuel new to them solid rocket fuel that could make it easier to launch attacked by firing missiles from mobile launchers and lot harder for American during one up to detect back with Jennifer the Pentagon water officials at the Pentagon tell you about this missile test well US officials tell me it was a successful test and a k + 11 mod to a ballistic missile designed to launch from a submarine this one was tested on land however this type of missile was last tested by North Korea back in April it has a range of 1,600 miles but fell well short of a previous missile launch which flew over Japan this weekend's metal tesco excited of course with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit with President Trump in Florida officials tell me the missile did not enter Japanese waters the response from President Trump standing alongside the Japanese Prime Minister was restrained I just want everybody to understand and fully know that the United States of America stands behind Japan's it's great Ally 100-percent the Pentagon is not overly worried about this launch but they are concerned about an ICBM and intercontinental ballistic missile that could one day reach the u.s. Shepherd jennifer griffin on two subjects works with the Pentagon Jennifer thank you and I'll bring in political reporter a be soldered what she says about President some silence silence on the controversy surrounding general plan and why she says the president might let it slide in selling instead of telling the general you're fired.
That's next.
One out in the white house keeping very quiet about the National Security Advisor michael Flynn after reports that he had secret and potentially illegal talks with Russian ambassador about sanctions on Russia president Trump has said nothing on Twitter he's not spoken of in a news conference at least two different quarters in the news conference attended a short time ago after him as he was leaving the room you still have confidence in general plan to report said he appeared to hear the question didn't answer the question its senior advisor refused to say whether the president still trust when during an interview on the sunday shows everywhere but CNN yesterday let's bring in a be soldered associate editor RealClearPolitics dot-com what's happening here.
Well I think that according to jennifer griffin sources and and just the silence over this firestorm I i think there's a good that here the president Trump is going to keep lieutenant general plan on I don't mean that it's gonna last a long time but I I didn't think immediate future it looks like he's probably gonna stay on i think there's just too much concern from Trump about the idea of looking like there's been a setback less than a month into his presidency he doesn't like optics going wrong and so I'm firing would would would look bad for him he just I just think you can avoid it so the national security advisor told the vice president no I didn't do that but he had actually done that and not only did he do that he according to these nine sources of the Washington Post and other sources he told the Russians don't worry about those sanctions that you we put on you for helping Donald Trump win the election went out when Donald Trump we're trying to help down when the election went down from President kill it left the note section and you build fire right well I just don't think the issue to trump is Russia Trump had many people on his campaign with well-documented connections to the Russians Paul man afford quarter-page Michael Flynn's connections are known to Donald Trump Donald Trump and fried his sons have about doing business in Russia are trying to do business in Russia and how much investment they've had their so if you look at what he has said the tweets that Donald Trump is written about Vladimir Putin being so smart and really telling the Democrats to get over their losses and everything I I just don't think the Russia issue is a problem here for Donald propagate the problem obviously is that he lied to the vice president pants and it's indefensible have you seen the national security adviser who lied your rice president if that's allowed what else is allowed but I just don't think at this point that Donald Trump is upset with what Mike slim did he doesn't like that it's a story doesn't want to be a sabbatical to pick reporters who had a press conference you might not ask about it but I think he's hoping that it goes away what it shows ultimately Shepherd is that I think that my pencil Vice President is on sort of an outer circle of influence and he's not only inside where state band michael Flynn and the people you see in picture spending the most time with for our president Trump are succeed Ben and Michael Pfleger do more doing more running of the country then vice-president what you're saying well they spend more time with him each that President from gave it the Mayflower Hotel in April 2016 before he was the nominee and the Russian ambassador that is so tight with michael Flynn was sitting in the front row probably at the invitation of mice when he isn't he's in position of great influence and it just seems that if he doesn't get fired for this for lying to the vice president then he is more influential than the vice president it's not as if this is the beginning of questions from detractors and otherwise some within his own party and some of those who were close to him having questions about general fled the visit New right and the new york times as reported but we think about 10 days ago and then again there was in that story that it was filed last night about this or the playoffs at the National Security Council that state bans of sent he is chief strategist his offensive its principles Committee of the National Security Council which is as a political staffer considered sort of very new and different and unique was because the band made it clear that he's trying to check slim influence so there's some kind of tension there even though the two are always together and were in the open air classified briefing about North Korea at mar-a-lago on Saturday night they seem to be the one to spend the most time.
Trump on all those calls you see them in the picture there always with him when he's doing any kind of foreign policy and national security discussions or or meetings may be soldered associate editor for RealClearPolitics dot-com and live in i watch the news room thank you think that the president's up announce its controversial travel ban Canada's Prime Minister sent out this week everybody's welcome in Canada a not so subtle dig at the president's policies so it was bound to be an interesting moment when the two came together in dt today right that's next I'm Leah Gabriel fox report more today's headlines more than 30 people are dead after a tour bus crash your Taiwan's capital city the boss turning a corner on an expressway when it flips according to a local official 40 people were on board the craft trapped many of them have used heavy machinery to pry open my thoughts for snowboarders are dead after an avalanche in the French Alps happened earlier today a series or near albertville reports indicate three victims are from the same family and that they were getting ready to snowboard with that avalanche hit seems recovered their bodies this afternoon and crews near gainesville florida are searching for missing plane with three people on board Coast Guard scene searching the area around cedar key by Aaron votes to air forces on hand to help narrow down the search.
Authorities say the single-engine Piper Cherokee like this one lost contact with radar yesterday morning the news continues with shepard smith is the best there's breaking news now on Fox News Channel and a new legal action has just happened over president Trump's travel ban remember last week judges from the night Circuit Court of Appeals denied a motion to reinstate that executive order that order temporarily banned people from seven muslim-majority countries from entering the United States John Roberts has the breaking news at the White House John the administration is responding to requests for the full night certain hear the case is that right yeah this happened late on Friday there was one judge that said that I don't know if they didn't like the the decision of the three-judge panel just thought that it should be hurt by a larger portion record file the petition in the ninth circuit court of appeals to have the entire Court this will be all 29 active judges vote on whether or not that appeared that tiara the temporary restraining order should be we heard by a non-bank session of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that would be an 11 judge panel the White House initially didn't look like it was going to appeal the three-judge rolling to a larger session of the night circuit court of appeals but now the White House has informed the district court in Seattle that it will file a brief but this was requested by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal the deadline being two o'clock on thursday afternoon that will file a brief with the ninth circuit court of appeals to see if this should be heard by the larger on bank session with the shame to judge james Robarts who's the Seattle district judge who was the one who slapped the TR 0 on the president's extreme batting order let's put all the proceedings at the district court on hold while we find out what the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is going to do so it's just it's not the White House initiating this ship its the White House responding to work request of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals got it all right you and take you one thing everybody seems to be leaking about general flan jennifer has her sources what are your sources saying about the National Security Advisor you know a lot of people have their own varying opinions on what's going to happen to the National Security Advisor you said jennifer griffin was told by a source that he apologized to the vice president.
That is a job appears to be safe i talked with the shorts here at the White House not too long ago who contradicts that somewhat think that as of last night's Lynn looked like he was probably going to skate through this but when all those stories came out this morning and started looking a little more dire for him and now the president is kind of sitting on the fence on the decision does he want to maintain his loyalty to general Flynn don't forget he was very close advisor to him all the way through he got up onstage amenities campaign events and introduced him as I think he's a very loyal soldier but then at the same time this appears to be a growing problem and one that the President may feel that he just has to push overboard before it gets too big chef so I i think very much right now the fate of general Flynn is in limbo and we were unable to ask a question at the press conference about a question was shattered the president on the way out he didn't respond to it so what we'll just have to wait and see what happens here but I.
States I don't want to put odds on it but to save 50 50 is probably pretty correct right about Shawn's fights are not speaking on this matter i guess nobody's picking on this on the record ship all right John Roberts the White House John thank you letter to john Buffy the theater the wall street journal you have to you know he told a fib apologize that's not what this this is private citizen plan before he was in the government speaking to the Russian ambassador thing don't worry about those sanctions that the president put on you because you've meddled in our election when the next president the beneficiary of the of the meddling when the next president comes into power feel less than the sections where would you get information like that except from the future president so this is the issue that the Democrats want to get me a bottom of there is the matter of having told a fib to the to the vice president and the vice-president going out and saying hey look you didn't have that conversation with the Russians wouldn't have turned out he had said record as well as i can confirm how much you feel that I mean yet so that's it that's it lets you know one issue for the other is how long will Donald Trump want this to be in the news if the democrats in congress of water hold hearings on exactly what did happen what was promised was anything promise uh-oh on what basis was that promise made what did who knew what at you know at what time.
These are all ways of keeping this issue very much in the public eye something that Donald Trump is going to want to have happened so the question is that he you know cut now and reduce long-term exposure to this or did he stick by somebody who has been no help them mind you also you know michael Flynn isn't the most popular person in your sub circle there's an understatement and there are there are knives out you know prior to this happening so this is you know he's finding kind of upstream here in a couple of different ways i want to talk about north of north korea's we we talk about North Korea launching attend you know that thing that we talked about that sort of thing all the time it seems to be over and over again this one's different solid rocket fuel changes the game not not so much because it can do something different because we can't catch them doing it you know here's the problem with North Korea this has been different every step of the way for the last 20 years they have progressively gotten more and more into the nuclear bid and the United States under pretty much every administration Republican Democratic has not found a way to stop this from happening to forestall North Korea from going to the next step it is nuclear program and the biggest concern of course is an effective intercontinental ballistic missile that could reach you know the west coast of the United States which is something young yang says that they're after so what do you do that last administration left the briefing paper for the truck administration anticipating something like this would happen.
This was probably pretty much of an expected move by this administration new North Korea was going to do something provocative but in those in those guidelines you know but you know they have suggestions for the administration pretty much with the Congress's you're proposing now things like more drills military drills with allies in the region more sanctions on them moving sure and convert them better that's right accelerating the deployment of a missile defense system for south korea is not going to stop the North Koreans nothing else has until now that you know if you don't have to be able to reach American shores to detonate a nuclear weapon of some sort in the air to knock out the power grid below which could cripple the international economy there's a lot of crazy guy in the world nation could get it to get away with it this moment doesn't he wouldn't have stopped yeah that's right or just a few miles you know top of you South Korea or Japan for them to to the east the question is what is trying to get to do china has a lot of sway over north korea most of north korea's trade is with China the United States has been after chinese companies to not do business with the military complex in North one-china card on the table and think i'm pretty much everything is negotiable.
I don't think he's necessarily gonna do that if you want to have good relations with China for a lot of other trade region and all of a sudden with Japan and all the sudden was the leader of canada which is underway now yeah so it might change it and a lot of changes and a very very tough slog for the United at the end of the day it will be China.
That in some way insinuates itself into this debate and get it North Korea to back off but it has not over the last two decades sometimes want to fail state over there then you get refugee you have to eat the problem is all yours that's right and if your China maybe you want something unstable on your border to kind of keep everybody off balance including the United States somebody from the wall street journal Thank You pleasure president shop as we mentioned wrapped up a news conference in the last hour long time Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau president Trump defended his position on immigration and refugee which different drastically from candidates sort of open-door policy Trudeau not a liberal on the far left through though is the third world leader to meet with President Trump is the inauguration last month and the two of them are political opposites bringing Kimberly acting chief Washington correspondent colonists were bought for the Boston Herald hi Kimberly how dance at a change in tone certainly yes definitely these two they start a very conciliatory tone today at their meeting and as you mentioned although the united states and canada are about it closer a valid that two countries could possibly be there are some very different views on some key issues between Prime Minister Trudeau and president from on a master for example shot President Trump has been very critical of NAFTA in the past certainly as it relates to Mexico and also this issue of immigration after President Trump rolled out here is a entry ban a prime minister Trudeau sort of sub needed him by tweeting out that refugees from Syria are welcome in canada and he has tweeted out pictures of himself greeting these refugees sort of a subtweet there but when they were face-to-face or at least in front of reporters today they were very respectful of one another even if reasserting their differences he got a question Donald Trump different belief from the canadian reporter how do you feel about the security of the northern border force the truth it's not mean you can just walk it out pretty much most of the time so that the the answer was implied within the question and then beyond that out what those questions were today at I mean who wants to know something bigger at this moment when did michael Flynn the right get together before you know I its battling it is i mean these questions were certainly picked to buy a friendly sources to ask about if you may be asked about the differences that these two have on the issues of immigration but yeah there's no question about michael Flynn or or anything else that was going on it was very focused to this topic even the reporters who shouted out some questions the president ignored them the White House is really on lockdown when it comes to any information about michael Flynn right now have you noticed a pattern that the china chinese were huge probably only straight and then the phone call with the Chinese leader in one work the one-china policy is fine then.
Japan is a really huge problem to paying the huge problem in Japanese leader comes in and now we're doing great we're hanging out marl go play golf and weekend and by the way those canadians up there those great he left wing nuts up there in Canada letting all the refugees it borders no good now we're all good i mean there are a lot of changes going on here from from the promises we got from candidate Trump to what we're saying this week it is and i think one thing that is important to note that the US has a trade surplus with Canada it's a very different position here in Mexico so I don't think that President Trump is that worried about it you know you're really great to see you thanks thanks to see you the Senate getting ready to vote on president Trump's it for treasury secretary Democrats call in the foreclosure king he said he actually helped lots of people hang on to their homes.
Really that's coming up weird hours away from a confirmation vote for president from Secretary of Treasury secretary nominee without any apparent opposition from the Republicans said it will likely confirm Steve minuchin remember outset candidate Trump was about the wall street bankers happy too much power well president nominated former Wall Street banker the goldman sachs banker Democrats have protested thank you Steve minutiae of running a foreclosure machine that used illegal tactics to admit thousands of homeowners back during the mortgage crisis there's an anti- to add running on the west coast with a woman saying he lied to his victims lied to her family took her home of more than 25 years his spokesperson called all of those attacks garbage arguing see Venetians bank actually helped thousands of American keep their homes like the manual with the news on Capitol Hill what we're hearing from Democrats in the Senate Florida that Welsh after been swiped about President Trump and his team overall the Senate is back in session.
Getting started on this week of information ahead and some Democrats took a swipe at Treasury secretary nominee the solution today we will be asked to vote for Treasury nominee who's questionable business practices earned him the title of foreclosure King what was essentially just business to him devastated the economy and the lives of millions of people Newton's nomination was one that was boycotted by Democrats in the relevant sent Finance Committee expected to be confirmed tonight most likely on a party-line vote.
Meanwhile the Senate Majority Leader complaint that this overall cabinet confirmation process didn't need to be this ugly it's been really disappointed to see that has charge level some obstruction by the Senate Democrats there's so many to work around the clock people-centered operating and i'd like to offer some words of five also up this evening dr. David shokan to leave the Veterans Administration he's expected to be easily confirmed the tougher aspect maybe when he actually gets on the job chef Michael manual on Capitol Hill thank you know how a lot of airline pilot seem to have the same reassuring tone where passengers say one pilot with anything but call me when she walked onto the jet and started talking about politics and her divorce why the friendly skies this from the pilot about to fly your plane sorry I'm late I'm going through a divorce that's what passed a pilot told them after she got on the flight laid out of uniform started ranting about her breakup in politics the United Airlines plane was about the platform awesome san francisco on saturday people on board that it bolted after the plane started or the pilot started talking over the intercom great galleries is from the west coast trace.
Yeah and yet because the captain got on the plane wearing street clothes and started arguing with members of the crew a lot of people onboard initially thought she was just an unhappy first-class passenger but when she got on the intercom and went off on a long rat filled with non sequiturs passengers say the mood in the cabin change something that captain actually pointed out an interracial couple of kind of a way of plotting unity and then she got political here's one of the passengers key and started off by saying that she had not voted for either trump or Clinton because they're a bunch of liars yeah so that's an odd way to start off the welcome to your flight system but yeah just really sort of went downhill from there and didn't make a lot of sense to any of us we were also told that she didn't say the Clinton and Trump a bunch of liars but a bunch of blank some of the captain's comments were also captured on cell phone video but we're not showing that because the person who posted them on social media now feel that for the pilot and has taken them down shut so how the United having a great United today how are they reacting.
