ESPN FIRST TAKE FULL PODCAST 'Executive Orders'
##########################################
A low-post listeners this week on the podcast at espn's Kevin arnovitz to discuss his mammoth Sacramento Kings feature and Brian Windhorst jumped on to talk about the cabin angry LeBron James the first exam thank you so much for being with us on a monday hope you had a wonderful weekend we are excited it is super bowl week we're going to be in houston for superbowl 51 catches live downtown will be at lucky's pub this wednesday februari first friday for the research we're gonna have a ton of special guest and giveaways doors open at 730am will be there early impact the house but right now so much to get into who are the guys more worried about the Falcons or the Patriots Tom Brady says he isn't using placated motivation are you buying it and speed car doesn't hold back when it comes to Donald Trump's executive order on immigration you don't want to mix with Max Kellerman have to say about this subject let's get it started having all those feelings but I'm getting kind of hot right now it is super bowl we both matt ryan and the Atlanta Falcons arrives in Houston yesterday while Tom Brady and the Patriots will be arriving this afternoon we went appears to be relatively healthy on the Atlanta cycle engine continues to battle trip stuff and we are taking the show on the road we'll be live from Houston wedding day through it all I got ahead for once we're all yourself you'll be trying but also don't nobody know a little later to help you oh yeah you'll never get I thought everybody know we're going at lucky's pub downtown saint emanuel street and that we hope to see you down there i have to say something what fight that night here my man max kellerman they're out there is a real deal baby thank you brother you're very good you know what very good do it yeah I got a couple of great fight.
There you go there you go yeah that's right you think I want to start with you here who are you more concerned about right now the Patriots or the Falcon believe it or not if the Patriots are I look at Atlanta certainly the youth it and that's something that Max is such a wonder what have you.
Here's while concern I think you look you genuinely look at the Atlanta Falcons easier mortality yeah and because of that i'm like i'm looking at that that top radiant as great as i know he is i'm like 30 not successfully not gonna stop thinking about Rob Gronkowski oh he's hurt ok i'm thinking about Martellus Bennett what he's never been here before this plan with Jake at last year for crying out loud.
I mean this is the whole new strategy for him i'm thinking about God's like that and I'm thinking about a defense that doesn't break my bench quite a bit where you can get at them it's one of those super bowl contest where I look at the new england patriots and understanding myself they had better be ready Atlanta's comment and it's not because of tipsy I whatever needs whatever nicknamed me what's the use of this is this is not it's not because anybody else it's because i'm looking at the Atlanta Falcons and I'm saying these brothers are studs and New England have to bring their a game in order to bring home a couple championship yeah i mean i hear that the Falcons are probably more talented but I'll Belichick has made a career out of making the more talented team at the end of the game go what just happened.
It's one of the reasons was my gate broke or even deflategate it made a lot of sense to people because Marcellus Wiley my former broadcast partner ESPN talk about the other hand another day was good seeing about la la la something without the error of law graduate he's many but but but you talk about the end of the game to be like what did they what just happened i know we're better than them.
I know what more thousand them but somehow they beat us and so it's Belichick and the scheming and all that but.
In this case it's more than that the Falcons are relatively inexperienced and I just think to last year's Super Bowl the broncos had been there the Panthers had not and it seemed to me obvious from the beginning of the game that experience was playing a role that guys were tight they didn't know exactly what they were doing doesn't mean that inexperienced team can't win the superbowl they can is the first you know sometimes guys come in they never done it before then it kick-started dynasty that have to start at some point but but it can play a factor and that can particularly be exposed when playing a very experienced team and that's what's about to happen in the beginning I was gonna go with you Steven yeah we write the thing that worried about the new england patriots am going to get complacent you know you without Brady all we have the best quarterbacks to ever play the game will be fine Julian Edelman's been there before but we can't say that about a lot of guys on that particular football team Martellus Bennett has never been there in that position especially this offensive line is deep it i'd lean more to New England but i have to go with atlanta and the reason is because the same things that we went through a 2004a unit new team company we finally got over that hump now it was it was gonna live or die for us at the quarterback for the swimming right you have to go to landing more concerned watches i'm working story about Atlanta because you know the thing for Atlanta we talked so much about the firepower with Julio Jones the running game is in the number two or three receivers and Gabriel is to do but we never really talked about their defense this is a defense in their defensive back their quarterback who's been penalized more than any that's a bag in the game.
This is a guy who's probably gonna have to go out and buy it it Alfred okay Alfred on the outside they don't have to front you know so now you're you get a secondary will be playing against pretty much of probably a number two receivers all across the board you know Julie elements really not a number one but he's number one in that office you have chris hogan at Mitchell Martellus Bennett who's not drunk alchy so now you have pretty much a group of guys that you're competing against and can they get the pass rush could easily get it celebrating quick enough before just the ball out what would you get from the White frede you know that's the question that arises.
Oh that yeah what is written but you don't have authority that usually works it does but he's also only related entities one game i probably wouldn't have won Game know even with one gate you're asking a lot from my older guy to come in and be that guy he's not he's not Haley coming up in from Dallas Cowboy you know the white friend is a great piece to the puzzle but do they have enough in their front seven their athletic they run sideline-to-sideline which i think the matchup with their linebackers a dion lewis and then the rest of the running back that thing works in favor of Atlanta but can they get past rested enough that we've seen in houston texas be starting with that can they do that in the superbowl here's my deal of the day beyond cloudy just a second or third year in the league and get a path right and i like to debut on quantitative economy offloaded figured eventually figure he's big above dick be 15 and a half fact it's not an active number one league that's not an accident we gotta give respect where respect to do we gotta understand the attention that you want to draw we gotta understand how that's gonna free up clean and how that's going free of god Dwight Freeney and other and see where that goes from there i also would say this to you to borrow your argument is the fact that because New England has a bunch of number two and then I may not know who the key on from moment to moment whether it's Amendola element or or guy you know it could be so my whole you know anybody else but here's why I think i'm walking stirred about New England it's not because of complacency you have to remember that when the Eagles your eagles played against the new england patriots that was in the throes of them i mean people talk about them being a dynasty they don't want ten years without winning the superbowl two times they lost to the new york giants why did they lose to the New York jobs for the New York jobs had a front for that could go at them that did it you didn't require you didn't have to blitz them from all over the place to set up the and get at com Brady can Atlanta to do that I know it seems like a tall tall task but I can't ignore the be right back over no the problem is even if they do that because the Texans had great success doing that right ladies still songs 30-plus on them now I know the salary given they gave a couple gif lost wallet who don't have now you know that i want for a lot of.
Computers for a lot super with Phillips 30-plus now you can sit there and say yeah but that's like special teams returning a kickoff for a touchdown stuff like that but that's the point about the Patriots even one phase of your game is extremely successful the office still it's not you know a bad and meantime we'll win the other two phases of the game they have just so long as we're very similar when you look at the texts and although the Atlanta Falcons although there's more explosive plays because of the quarterback but DeAndre Hopkins Julio Jones their flu and and fuller knows guys still to say prevent Ryan has to protect the football all throughout this game and speaking of Atlanta only four of the Atlanta Falcons have been to a Super Bowl before but they do have a number one scoring offense and the potential MVP in that Ryan and one of their many Star weapons feeling freaked carpet and Devonta Freeman saying this you can do whatever we want 50 your poison we've had the game plan the game plan doesn't change maximista Patriots be focusing on defensively well the Patriots generally should focus defensively on taking away as much as possible 25 out often that the Falcons mind you know there because the whole thing is they have receivers who can beat their men you know they will win those matchups you gotta load up the back load up the outside and force them to beat you with the running game which I think has two advantages if you're new england won as good as the running game is what makes them special what makes Matt Ryan special is the passing game to those receivers to kind of hard to score a ton of points running the ball compared to throwing the ball which is what the Falcons do so you do have to pick your poison Devonta Freeman is right with this team you have to because they have many ways they can score and I think what Belichick will pick is the running game dad beat us let's see if you can beat us with the run and also by the way you would have a stout one defense anyway they're good defending against the run a degree overall but here's my thing I think the key is kevin coleman I know Devonta Freeman to run the football I know the combination of them coming out of the backfield of the lethal threat i like this p chemical we catching passes out of the backfield I think that's going to be a big big deal with New England obviously you've got Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu was obviously our Bible secondary options good pickup from system you get all of that and feel Gabriel is no joke we understand that super these speeds you can make things happen he can be electrified but I think if your bill belichick you can predict sold kind of things what happens is that where you just throw a swing passes out of the backfield and dude are making please you know without running the football those guys when you look at new england even though the restricted to some degree in that front of Ivanova Corey and Chum those boys can play the fact of the matter is that the older now for the Aged situation that you talk about when you got young studs that can make things happen with their feet waiting about this but it's about your physical ability that's where coleman and Freeman come into play particularly cold it's Who I like catching passes out of that backfield.
I think he could be a key component if Atlanta wins this game i think that he will have a lot to do with it i think we developed a free minute and people are jumping on the sort of comment i think they were the right common those are things that we would say our route would ever immediate concern they think that it's probably a little bit cocky coming from.
Devonta Freeman when I don't think that he's absolutely right he understands that the military's gonna have to pick his poisoned who was going to pick up with you don't pick the running back let's go back to the superbowl I believe in New Orleans where they're doing the pages way to get the st. Louis Rams they put marshall faulk out of that off it.
Defensive is coming up the field your bank Marshall for woody before it comes out so it's not a valuable valuable asset in the passing game now the running game you clog up the horses run out that that's something that Atlanta Falcons are very successful with they like to get the a and the B gap inside if they run outside what it costs we did now that the play called so if they're running inside clog up the holes made for him to run out that now when I look at this bill belichick defense that we can go back to the Pittsburgh a they tried to take lady on bail out again believe me I'm took himself out of the game because of injury it wasn't about Antonio Brown it's not going to be about Julio jose i expect them to double-team guys like the new if it did bring us safety system that development because because this is the reason you double teams to New you have Malkin butler vs julio jones 1 of all I don't know what you also put a linebacker underneath him you put Malcolm Butler deep that was not going to play man-to-man member Izumi jobs i would not do that norwood nor bill belichick do that because remember going back to that before even up the ozone one-and-a-half leg they still had guys like a sake Samuels out there do came out of the game over hundreds of jobs procedure 22 and that's the thing they tried to take Westbrook out of the office if so i expect Bill Belichick they had that same mentality take the running backs out literally ojos have his game where it might be a a hundred-yard game 100 fly but don't force anybody to interrupt because of a question yeah you had other receivers right thanks to the world if i remember correctly and who had a big birthday that's right but at the same time you know it was coo and then there was a significant drop-off in terms of whatever you have to go with so Westbrook was obviously your secondary option but that hard throughout that season with a primary object covering the team i never get with a bad boy but I'm saying to you when i look at toledo job everybody else is a Westbrook the terms of in terms of that secondary option you have to do and the Westbrook on this Atlantis water this whole do but then all the gods that we mentioned Gabriel is the new way cold and I'm pre middle I'm dead like down the same level what about how you gonna pin that down if you if you if your village at the whole thing about it is an even Pittsburgh tried to do it whenever wherever Rose lined up their third quarter you go after him because he's not a good cover corner is not a good cover call the any little noise not quick either so its hips aren't as loose as you see have a Malcolm Butler or even a right so you attack him and if you're running game is on point all of a sudden you start to see the halfback stream be a major factor you start to tighten too check down which we had LJ smith a couple times because their linebackers from New England or cover linebackers will run stopper they can't run sideline-to-sideline very well-liked we see from Atlanta so the way that you attacked within the middle part of the football field here for some to run out that he did when i think about what is that what you want to do and not just about Dean I'm talking about where you going to default extra resources you only got so many guys in the field on defense where your extra resources go to me they don't need to devote extra resources to the run-stopping because they do that that were produced out there and if.
Let's get it went to beat him running the ball that's not know your thoughts run back.
Well that was going to try their battle is over they are really a better than brutally honest they will if you put if you if you see if you send extra guys outside and back right and eat then you're daring them to run and they have running back they will write what I'm saying that I i I'm sorry I didn't mean a word that way i'm not saying they won't run for state effective right I'm saying to you that going up against Bill Belichick knowing what we all know they know what to quit knows it and so as a result you're going to like this why you're gonna do what Donovan McNabb is why do i need to constantly run the football when I could just different Duncan to what he's God you sayin I'm saying it's like is that that forces your linebackers all ultimately to become cover God that it's not like it's not like you're running the football but at the same time it's not even past it but you're making them get away to hear you're running acts without handing you don't want it back without ended up you're making them to evade from the conflict zone and that's how I believe you can attack the look that but you're talking about ways of attacking me but this is not Bill Belichick attacking with you're trying to attack ok by banging them before they get out of the backfield now for defensive end chris long ago got coming up feel they see the running back getting why you bangaram now that take them out of the office of the value of a receiver and you can focus on the guys deeper so when you have to do running 12 rounds you have real jobs running at 25 you're up there is a safety over the top there's a linebacker underneath the new the back hasn't gotten out yet because he's been banged into the back of the bank you that's what makes them successful but if he has a free release reading coleman and also freedom if they have three relief and they catch the football linebacker have to make that is what i'm saying is whether it's Gabriel also knew it said I'm running 12-yard right you have done run a bit deeper that way got catch it by coming there you go what are you going to add additional maybe all going to the actual often all year there are historically great often they're among the all-time greats what makes you special.
Matt Ryan recognizing guys who are open and getting on that ball the receivers right that's what really makes them special and I think that's what Belichick and we take away because the Falcons going to want to dance with with bro.
Right up yeah I just don't want to hear anybody comparing them to houston in this regard odwalla is not Matt Ryan I don't can get started right that's right on the right day stopped writing so we all had to live through the flight dates for 544 days to be exact with Tom Brady senior it was on a whole other level of course the three-time Super Bowl MVP father was pretty much more information intimate details and it's also his name that was being tarnished here's what he had to say to k Ron for news what's the link is him what Roger Goodell constantly lied about is beyond reprehensible at Oregon concerns he went on a witch hunt and gone way over his head and had to live his way out numerous ways the reality is Tommy never got suspended for deflating footballs he got suspended because the court said that Roger Goodell could do anything he wanted to do to any player for any reason whatsoever.
That's what happened the NFL admitted they had no evidence on him somebody that has Roger because FX and doesn't belong at any stage that Tom Brady is on well that mac job if he justified.
Well first of all I have three daughters that any parent is justified in defending your kid like to the death right that's what parents do if your kid is under fire you're going to defend them you're going to go at whoever's especially if there's reason to doubt right if there's even if there isn't you might you might still defend your kid oftentimes most wood and we can argue about that but especially when there's good arguments on both sides you're going to go at whoever's attacking your kid and secondly what is what is probability that doing here is essentially accusing Roger Goodell wielding too much power of seeking a autocratic rule of of all of the problem is really saying here's the problem for Terry anism is that is that it comes down to if someone has a personal beef or a preference they can impose their will and it doesn't it's not necessarily just an it's not even necessarily in the best interest of what's going on it has to do with their own peccadilloes their own preferences.
He's making the case against authoritarianism which at this more high-end economy is actually very resin where you can relax you'll have plenty of college about there yeah we're going to go to remove the only difference is you like that look at that look at your differences Roger Goodell would have to respect a court order for atoms are specific here's the deal in all seriousness I can respect with Tom Brady seems coming from that son are in any son would want to father like that to come to his defense so I florida man but that doesn't make him accurate the latter part of his quote is what this speaks to and at the end of the day you're not bigger than the shield and so yes it's true.
Tom Brady didn't get suspended because of the flavors football tom brady got suspended because Tom Brady tried to challenge the authority of india dinner and the commission of flexes muscle on behalf of the 32 owners one of whom is Tom Brady the bolts basically saying excuse me no matter how large you are no matter how epic you are you ain't bigger than the shield it was here before you arrived and it will be here when you are going and I think that I say that because it's imperative that everyone out the understand none of us are stupid enough to infuse the greatness in the in the integrity of of tom brady and that we know what Tom Brady means the football what he's representing the champion four times over but it doesn't negate the fact you could handle things differently.
It doesn't negate the fact that had just been Donovan net or baby about the quarterback we would have been speaking about their arrogance we would have been speaking about who the hell do you think you are because you ain't bigger than the shield top i'm gonna say that again and imma put it in plain english for everybody this is America we live in a country that sixty-six percent white it don't get much larger in sports than Tom Brady he's white.
He looks great his wife is off the chart still can't get over the runway walk order to open a little fuckin this up a little higher.
Although she could watch you could tell me what can i still be why did that happen.
Patient was that she was phenomenal I mean this dude you're rich or famous you got a supermodel wife you've got a pristine image all of these other things for some always do what you have to do all you had to do was sit up there pick-up-the-phone Roger can we talk no you refused to do that you wanted to follow along the Belichick lines with the Patriot way you wanted to set up in all of sudden your text messages where way to yourself all got lost or destroyed ok I broke that story you got all that going on.
You could have handled it differently because investment lot of second and i understand that and that isn't even though his father even though his father didn't say that i wish that his father would have chilled with the cervix language towards Goodell because in the end as a day you might have set up the advisors son look there's times when we have to bite the bullet its cygnet but this is one of those I i agree with the defending his son I mean for all of us who have kids yes we have to step in front of the bullet and be able to take it for MIT be able to explain why now in this situation we fail to realize that the players have voted on or Roger Goodell to have this Authority you know so don't get upset now when all of this goes on a lot of this is carried over because tom has taken it too far now remember it was at first it started out of the four gates expected it would have been dropped a reduced to this is and as a quarterback in this league we have all signed a petition to 2005 I believe or you before we all kind of petition that we can have the footballs earlier be implicated to how we like it for game time and then be able to play with the football team practice with that was something that quarterback to me after all across the NFL that we signed including Tom Brady and Peyton men now did he have anything to do with deflating footballs know he probably didn't take the air out of football but he told the equipment staff how he wanted the football now if you know where the PS eyes were no he probably did but when he got up there and the press conference who said I liked my football is now first of all as you ask any other quarterback they wouldn't be able to explain where they like the bed the state i like the way they feel here my football is always ready and prepare for sunday because our practices and I footwear I like now that was once it's not for his dad to be able to come out at this time we're going to the Super Bowl it's all bad time we talked about distractions leading into the silver this is a major distraction for the collected and unless unless somebody goes out and balls and they win right this will be a distraction that we will talk about if they don't win the superbowl because it is distracting he just supporting it son so I thought that was me i feel more empowered to get out there into my failed my family behind your that's great what did the rest of the team has to answer all this because who knows if the dad hung out with any of the players are the players have been over to the house now Julian Edelman have to talk about now bill belichick probably going to be asked about it about craft is going to be asked about this is one that will be disturbing for a lot of different people because of what his dad was bitching not just that the timing and we got to that you could have said that the media day because the Sun have to go up there before to be right in preparation for the superbowl and now even though he was going to be asked about it before he's going to be bombarded with it at nordea because now what are you going to set up and say no comment to what your address that I'm w.e about you just told my friends are ya WM don't know whatever way wa ter is a great radio station but they ain't the media during super bowl week you've been doing terrible hat was super fun yeah it is it is i I've been to several of them and i'm telling you right now that you're on the radio going to show on radio row let me take up the right now Super Bowl week that media is on another level and but your son that have to be subjected to discuss because of what you are looking for stories and he just gave you have gave it to my charity a lot of media outlets video will be trying to get somebody that's in the superbowl 32 flaky I think we'll be okay this we have a diligent that comes it's mighty sent Tom Brady said anything looking forward to a win against the falcons as a form of retribution for the flaky penalties here's what he said about it to Chris Berman last night you know I would mean we won the game so.
That's all I really care about is us you know finish this thing off and I think we've had a great season you know the team's really played well like I said under a lot of different circumstances and you know hopefully we're in that position it's going to take a big effort is going to take you know great football game by our team so you know i'm excited for our opportunity you know hopefully we can make the most of it significant that display kate is not a motivating factor are you buy it yes today but not sunday if you win and you see Roger Goodell right dear as an entirely different emotion the work is done and now it's at your disposal is at your discretion.
What should or can be done or whatever the case may be because if you're on that stage and you are super bowl champion after all you indoors you finally got the job done and then the man that you believe has sullied your name and your reputation has infused your character your integrity is standing before you having to present the trophy that's a different emotion all together it's like you might not do anything but you're gonna be go you get there is it means being do if you don't need to do something like that it's us don't think that's gonna be some kind of look at whatever the case may be and if you're smiling like Tom Brady's with that George woman smile right this is gonna be like how you like me now that kind of snob but it's gonna be something that's the point it's not like it a factor.
Ok so this would make this super bowl win if he gets it sweeter than it would have otherwise been closed and sweeter and sweeter the superbowl it must be even your fifth one got to be all got people who just be even better but and it was someone else maybe i would say hey a lot of people think there is prepared as they can be but a little extra motivation that can tap adrenaline that you don't always have access to not even in extreme circumstances it can tap a little bit more maybe it makes you a little better but in Toms great Tom Brady's case I've always had the sense that he is as prepared as humanly possible for every moment in a game like this I don't think because we're talking about Tom Brady this can possibly elevate his play.
Bob where it would be because he's always ready to play at the highest possible level but as even a said afterwards if he wins then all bets are off then that moment becomes extra special to him.
I just don't think that carrot is enough to make them even better cuz I don't think he can be even better i think he's passed out is potential well i think i'm in a minute at the beginning of the season and now toward the evidence season it is motivational factors motivational factor to get back out of football kia was to prove Roger Goodell Rome balance improve Roger Goodell wrong but he seen the way to theme playing without him so was also to go against look back talk about early or to prove that he can play at 39 years of age and play at that elite level as the season continued don't i don't think it was a motivating factor because how well they were playing and what they were able to do- brunch lp- out of my finest everyone that was framed up it hurts now everyone is healthy but I think leading up to this week it's the topic of conversation hitting up his wife has bring it up his dad not only is he brings up the media but he keeps talking about it till the Sun all last week I guarantee and so when you continue to talk about it now is the beginning sticking to your mind every time you step out on that football field is to get that trophy and to look at Roger Goodell like people they talked about in the basically tell them this is your fault you're the reason we won the superbowl now give me that they have trophies and go home.
So now going into this game it's more effective than we look at because I think of it as a player in this game in the NBA in in baseball this is the way to prove everybody wrong including the commissioner that he was wrong for accusing you of doing something you say that you were not responsible for and not only that to win the superbowl him and if he went so well he's got to get MVP they're going to get everything so that they can be able to stage for this particular reason the NFL was set it up this way because it's not only good for a guy like Tom Brady this is great for Roger Goodell Roger Goodell having all the power to make all the decisions and field stands in front of you ask that easily I don't know what I mean that ends around.
I will tell you according to numerous sources that I have Roger Goodell no one was happier more happier than Roger there when you have it was a lot of the apts you get letting your hangout we never give that's not what he did not want to be on that stage with the new england patriots and some degree yes it's a year later and and the momentum is dissipated to some degree but remember this season who tom brady was suspended for the first four games so I still think the Roger Goodell has a strong level of discomfort when he's talking about being a dead superball and having to do you want standard nitrogen in particular cooperating I don't believe I definitely believe he's uncomfortable with everything we're talking about what you were talking about is going by the assumption that he didn't do it.
What if he did it we don't know and and the end of the the weather reports that is more likely to not have been disputed but whatever it is it's unclear if you did it or not.
What if he did it does that change the motivation for Tom Brady won the whole thing about if he did if he did me feel paid the concert was before so I mean it went about their I mean but you can't be as righteously indignant if you really don't matter I mean it's like a kid you killed still feel candy and again restored your with the guy who sold it for your trouble so birth serve the consequences for so it's just like he took it anyway so over time Brady if he pulled the air already told the equipment that can take more air out your guilt before because he should have just came out in the press x to say I great look I had them take the way air out of the balls the way i like it did I know where was no i did i'm not responsible for that there he could've mean he could have handled it much better and he deserves blame the culpability for that regard to how he handled the whole matter but to answer your question directly max what may also play a role in his elevated level of higher is if he believed he was targeted and other people got off like a bill belichick because it's true that absolutely positively nothing happens without Bill Belichick knowledge it's already finished taking all these it's my build-o-matic name of the game nobody would after that we're going to nobody don't know about it going to pick one that might take him off and keep in mind keep them on we gotta remember this too if you look at the English history when those footballs supposedly will being played it.
They never fumbled the ball at foxboro ma and now this yeah i mean ever wanted illegally to the bumblebee so we understand haha anyway by the way where the fam never got the battery is being denied ever having to use that their humble way to fuck up right after spiky went way down until the fleet back ride and hereafter I don't but not going to go to number and what I've never wanted always look at your friend was feeling the case that would make it wasn't sure whether you had on without it but it was very exciting into the death like the last old some candy when I was seven years old got busted and never stole another thing to recommend like ya got busted a great surprise video do you got over it meant my mama gonna get back together with my daughter she said your father deal with you my father's it had the belt.
Come on you yeah when I turn right now my father being in jail together because i started my bottom of the plea that would get your phone where we're going but all they got all that would be a challenge you'll be feeling can no I'm not that I gotta know it probably was happy with this will feeling 10 travelmate want to avoid that the way to store about a project i'll talk with my social and colleagues saddle forceful but it's still want to accomplish devices whether or not I'll get to work with him at schiphol 51 how about those the Warriors they blew out the clickers by 46 points at orochon saturday i think it used to be considered a rivalry not so much anymore chef curry with the shot had an incredible half court buzzer beater and 43 points in the game here yes after the devil watches for better when it also lets go to the grocery store other house i'll focus your house in order to cater to children to be conservative in your office connect with the Warriors blood of the Clippers specifically Palio's it speaks to how great the Warriors are now that started the fire on all cylinders and has been integrated kevin durant increasingly into the offensive and onto the team into the team and the defense even that he brings us even as pointed out it also points out how great Chris Paul is in his absence did I simply not the same and the inadequacy of Austin Rivers as a starting point guard in the NBA or maybe even a player in the NBA and even have a question for you about this because i found myself wondering if Austin Rivers has never been a good a good pick-and-roll point guard to say the least we kind of need that today's NBA spread offices in and all that but i imagine look awesome rivers is woefully inadequate to start at the point to get blown out by 40 here's the the coach's son is also the GM son i imagine that part of getting blown out by 40 not only be it the the the fact that the point guard is not good enough but the fact that the whole thing nose at that point guards not good enough and he's the head coach and GM son.
That can't be good for the locker room but that's just my theory you actually know things so I'd like to ask you what's going on when Doc Rivers firstborn Austin Rivers on there was a reputation on the part of many you bringing your son they didn't like it Doc Rivers not directly he said I delivered you know what you know he was like I don't care are Austin Rivers came on the team and unleash and immediately showcase his defensive prowess what he can do on a defensive end of the floor earned his stripes.
So he is far more respected now and when he first arrived on the team but this entire franchise knows everything starts and ends with Chris Paul he's that vital he's that pivotal when he's not on the floor for the Los Angeles Clippers they are shell of who they are he runs the show he directs traffic he orchestrates the he knows everybody's job description he is a true extension of the coach on the court not just in performance but an attitude because Doc Rivers you know hehe mouse to know one his attitude is there's a way to beat everybody we just have to find it and Chris Paul is an extension of that without that they lose that identity maxima just to show that being I seem like Blake Griffin essentially run those not exactly a point forward but run the offset that times with Chris Paul out of the lineup and seem to do pretty well it to me I hear that of course.
Listen any backup point guard and small way off from Chris Paul who played a practically perfect point guard like the perfect point guard but in a it in particular Austin Rivers even a there's no one on the team especially the contract he just got in the offseason that is dad gave them but let's face it when he said he was the top recruit a high school but by the time the Clippers signed him to his to the first deal he was like a d-league caliber player but again bubble kind of NBA player we're looking at one side of the ball instead of both sides defensively evil longer than NBA offensive Lee there have been times when he looks like he's improved with the shot he can make something happen.
The problem is this he's playing with the Clippers we're Chris Paul is and so we're creating you go from Chris Paul Austin Rivers there's an extreme drop off if evil plan and most other places to take that big of a drop all right so it's not that flagrant 2 i'm actually I've done clear what you're saying is clearly true what I'm asking is is their resentment nevertheless that he is the coach and GM son they want all reason they don't have a better point guard back up we're taking a real contract they gave written contract about 10 million initiated pay 10 million initiate but you gotta remember that because of the collective bargaining agreement in television deal the elevation of the salary cap and how it's not going to counter that their mirror miss a mid-level for crying out loud right now consider what it but I want to go to a bigger point when I look at this up go to say warfield as i told you before this is the beginning that damn Kevin the ruin my season I'm gonna tell you right now.
Oh listen this do is just on another level 90.
Steph Curry dropped 43 I know that korean auto otherworldly we know what he meant and click top to make the splash brothers break through the equations but my god kevin durant averaging 20 picture game shoot 54 different field should go about 30 not for several people are great.
This dude is just on another level ok and him being honest having them absolutely absolutely him obstacle jay-z obstacle obstacle that because they have taken comfort just as I just regulating i thought i was gonna have to look forward to at least i don't have the front of the motor now I'm worried about identify don't of worried about how competitive it is going to become worried about the ethics of epic ride out like i might not even have it the way Kevin Durant is flowing with this team and the way he's spitting in and the way they're coming together how in God's name are they're going to stop.
Has anybody going to stop the Belgic whatever moment you started literally guide to the point where we gotta last night they get there by looking at the good game between epaulet Steph Curry the playlist that mean what else okay sorry i was just looking at the port I'm gonna get a golden state warriors and I'm like damage this is just not for you and that game next killed when I was thinking about her mother okay about Michaels gonna let you know you're happy that's a superteam far we go to work i swear i don't blah blah but no this is like watching you know and one competition that they are doing what they want wherever hey don't want to get this over here you know Harlem Globetrotter and beer i like that gotta work with me for the moment but i'm telling you right now I look forward to competition competitiveness I mean where is everyone having a good off / and such big boy it's a dance.
Saying they went to game 7 and they blew it in the last couple of possessions and that look he replaced parison barn have the bars a nice little player but he was worthless in the finals in barnes couldn't hit the broad side of a barn would have a walk is up he and festive severely were in a competition to see who is choking bigger under pressure those two guys were worthless in the final terrible.
Goodbye and you replace Harrison Barnes with having direct I mean just reckless I i keep there is no exaggeration little understanding of the Molly we call kevin durant the second best player in the world because we give deference and respect to LeBron who's a reigning defending NBA champion and three-time champion who usually gets an advantage over K over K Dee in big moment that's the only reason LeBron is not a better shooter LeBron is not more accurate for the free-throw line LeBron is not a due to what the ball in his hands ahead of kb when armed wives therefore most people you don't want that Kevin Durant legitimately forces you to debate is this the best player on the planet and the do to fix the level with a seven six weeks friends who can handle the ball pull up from 3000 rays game to get to the hole goes to the free-throw line is the career eighty-eight percent grade even as he played cricket.
I mean now all of a sudden go to face the one block that number one is the number one to disrupt the shot all because he's there with draymond and Iguodala and klay strider independent make a five-out hell now going to disguise.
Steph Curry Stephen was damaged in a spare but nice flat fare about that is ridiculous when they play five out now they still got a seven foot on the floor yes he does have to have to be going to do now you're going to be fine baby i'm putting ruin your feet but you don't realize that if anybody were ever recovered yet.
Now you can vary depending on the final sale yeah all about giving an obsession or copyrighted not report about as I you are ready today I'm there are you really wonder who the best player in the world where we don't really want to give it to LeBron give it to you have many having to read i'm telling you right now at 0 Kelvin Herrera is a bad somebody minutes so that I'm mad at him for going there this is not fair and then that element there they are real deal baby Falcons are probably more talented team but I'll Belichick has made a career out of making mortality team at the end of the game but what's just happened i look at the new engl traces and a plan of myself they had better be ready Atlantis comments you may have enough in their front seven totally do it with water and scoring three great often i think that's what Belichick have to take away hey welcome back into first take we had a great first hour our number two on past be nice if you had well obviously trap i can't wait until begin that discussion to listen to my mac element my closing remarks you can wait for that I'm going to stir up a little trouble intentionally and I don't care that's just a couple of things on my mind of all but especially that being a sometimes provocative all right gentle number.
The National Basketball Association which of course is a very globally has contacted the State Department to understand how President Donald Trump executive order to suspend immigration from seven countries could impact the least players in the NBA contacted the State Department before that travel ban ruling this according to yahoo warriors head coach Steve Kerr who lost his father to terrorist attacks had a strong stance on the subject take a listen I would you know that as someone who with family members of victims of terrorism the most father before trying to combat terrorism of by banishing people from come into this country really going against.
Our country's about and creating the hear of a long way to go about it anything we need to be greeting anger and sure of anything the fuck completely against happening that was state car on trans travel ban next what's your reaction first let me see my reaction is everyone around here and I'm sure that other media outlets is very concerned with if you're going to talk about this subject getting the facts right make sure we have the facts right and it's a little bit frustrating to talk about it because you have to be so careful with how you phrase things and and the reason that's frustrating is because the president and his press secretary and other official mouthpieces do not have to be careful about the fact that how they praising can get fast facts wrong and they can get back strong and insisted there right which either means that they're lying or maybe even more horrifyingly that they really don't have any information but there are displaying fact that are undisputed that they just do so that's a frustrating position to be in.
And because of that when i see you readers thoughtful men leader of leaders of men like Gregg Popovich with a military background and a great degree of success leading men a thoughtful person not mince words but really take a leadership stance and and speak in plain English his problems with what's going on.
Um it's heartening you feel emboldened you feel good and steve and i did a final take about that last week and Steve Kerr the same thing whoo-hoo suffered tragedy at the hands of terrorists his father come for him to come out and not mince words also feels good.
Another leader it you know in on the American sports theme good for them I'm it makes me happy um and so look what are we really talking about your speakers not a rabble-rouser rabble-rouser solid citizen Steve Kerr if if so i'll be get the facts very clear here forget about just the van and all that and how that will affect was let me just say that.
Reason that Steve Kerr another that seems to me that the sense of what they're different kind of a heightened sense of alarm here is that if the reports are true from the pro bono lawyers at the airport when the federal courts gave an order and Customs and Border Security ignored it now if those reports are true then the question becomes did they not fully comply with a court order because they didn't know everything because they were intentionally ignoring the courts and if that's the case if that's true that they're intentionally ignore the quick then the question becomes is that on order from the executive branch from the lighthouse because if that's true we have a constitutional crisis and an attempt to undermine the Constitution and take over the government the government it bypassed checks and balances by the executive branch by the president that is the most shocking thing that has happened it if those things are true in the government in my lifetime to be from 43 years old so so that's to me what seems to be the real kind of threat and underpinning of the kind of heightened alarm by people like Popovich and Steve Kerr the attempt at authoritarianism and and I'm very proud you know when I see the way people have come together around this issue in the sporting world in other places the demonstrations at the airport it makes me proud to be an American and I love to see the way people are coming together and rallying around this issue and and um really i think crowd might not be the right word but that's the word that best describe how I felt about Popovich and how I feel about Steve first today.
Well I I respect the hell out of Steve curve arm and his thoughts on such matters definitely resonate with me consider what happened to his dead when he was 18 years of age and that at university of arizona and his father was murdered by terrorists and reroute we understand that a profile respect for Gregg Popovich and I certainly have a problem with this van which to me clearly appears to be a ban against Muslims no matter which way they slice it.
Here's where we also all have to grow up and embrace the reality of the situation we don't want to set up the in say it with such situations like this but money talks.
Why would i break up money because i'm looking at the country's on Trump's banned list here.
Iran Iraq Libya Somalia Sudan Syria Yemen these are all countries that are on Trump's banned list none of which he does business with but other countries that he does business with Saudi Arabia Egypt Turkey the UAE he does business with all of those none of them want to lift so now we haven't addressed me where the hijackers of 911 came facebook and kind of right and and and when we talk about Saudi Arabia according to reports continue including the Cato Institute which is a conservative conservative leaning Institute what is the number here 2,000 2302 change of the terrorists from Saudi Arabia that's when you look at it from that perspective and the fact that they're not on your band list but you do business with them and you're quoted during the campaign talking about how they buy apartments from you they generate anywhere from 40 to 50 million dollars from you you love these folks now we get into a dicey situation as it pertains to conflict up its up it just on a part of our commander-in-chief lot of that resonates because all of these things that things we essentially new during the campaign we know about the wall the big beautiful wall that the mexicans were going to pay for we heard about that.
Twenty-nine percent of the latino population voted for him there were folks that saw incident that saw and they looked at him and not immediately denouncing David do not immediately even though you eventually did it and people pointed to that and they said you know what they are some sensitivities in terms of the whole housing issue in the nineteen seventies all he's supposedly array.
Exist but he got two more percent of the black vote for Mitt Romney then we saw Hillary Clinton out there speaking in a fashion that resonated with various minority communities but two million less black folks came out to vote bahar they're voted for barack obama when Barack Obama himself within flooring people get out there photoset their complaints so closely as I told you my boy Jeff and others have always had to be all the time you don't you got a whole bunch of folks out there protesting going off all the top conservative folks they don't say too much they just go to the voting polls and they vote and so as a result when we look at this for what it is max when it comes down to is regardless of how much folks may not like it the 62 point now many people that voted for this man he told them he will go do this and they voted me why it's important to the Minnesota and that's why it's important for the media timeout left or right right now she entered members of the media but the institutions are only spread as strong as the people in them get medals for institutions across the board in the country.
It's during the campaign once he was elected by another said okay clean slate time many people couldn't get past the divisive rhetoric of the campaign and said no clean slate but I and others like you and others said look ok now we'll see what not candidate Trump does but what the administration actually does 11 and not when in office and since he assumed the office he has done everything that he said he was going to do so now it's time is it wasn't just rhetoric it were if they were promises that is now executing and so for these for the press to sit idly by and mince words to be super careful about how you talk about it is not okay and I used for example the way we talk about this we are we go over meticulously making sure to get the facts right media outlets organizations other is let's get the facts right but the administration doesn't have to.
And now that it's actually administration not a candidate the president now they have to be held to account must be brought to that is that that's the way its way there's a religious test in this country which they are denying but obviously Giuliani on Fox and others yet he wanted to do that that's not okay it's anti-american it is not okay and people shouldn't it still for it's not okay it's not okay but the American people decide what is ok and what is not OK by who we elect to put into office and then you're gonna have people that look at his list.
They're going to think about what Obama did with Syrians and Iraqis and 2011 and beyond they're going to have questions we don't know that is we're not trying to go this over the perfect of Steve Kerr's comment great population comment your comments which are all valid we have to exit we have to recognize that these are largely concerned but i believe the biggest concern of all is the fact that he said what he was going to do he is doing it and sixty 2.9 million people ever deadly supported or have buyer's remorse or voted reports there's one of the other something is wrong and that is the way that it becomes really long at this will be in court orders.
That's where that that is a real problem to say if that's the case I'm gonna change my love it now you have to be very careful you know there's no that's the problem there's zero equivalency between what's going on now and your body there are 0 but that's the problem with pretending that there are alternative sets of fact there is one set of fact there is no equivalent not if you had to wait long i wish we had more time guys were earlier this month the San Francisco 49ers fired and transvaal key and over the weekend the replacement with a whole fam candidate john Lynch he had no front office experience but is being given a six-year contract according to our Adam Schefter Lynch research out there for the future head coach kyle shanahan before reaching out for the 49ers about his interest in the GM job links with a former defensive back to the buffs and broncos hand with a longtime NFL analyst for Fox and look who's here and just saturday been a minute ago with the elders you're looking at you back with that Stephen I want to start with you here can you have a problem with the 49ers hiring winch have a big problem with it oh and for the purposes of Lynch's family and him was watching he does outstanding job at fox he was an outstanding football player I don't know him personally I'm not questioning anything about this man my comments have absolutely nothing to do with Lynch himself.
My issue is about the process chest max you know me I'm all about the process of fairness no executive experience whatsoever no not a member of a scout t not a member of a player personnel department not a GM nothing absolutely positively nothing off the field of an invariant analyst with my ball and you get not only the general manager's job but a six-year do 60 60 and on top of it all how did you get the job because you've got a relationship with Kyle Shanahan's you used to play with his father and you know him and as a result you picked up the phone and you after that let's wrap their thoughts in a project that's been a couple of nights and make your out okay and then after that you'll an 86 year deal and I think this and i noticed makes folks uncomfortable but its first take so I'm gonna put it right there I don't know of any black man in history that have gotten a GM job in NFL history understood circumstances that resonates with me now the interview two african-american candidate and I make sure that I put this down in my milk charge because Luis ridic are very loose ridic was one of them of course of course yes Jimmy rate are they interviewed him George Patton call that George fat and Elliot wolf a couple of other guys they interviewed about the different candidates according to numerous resources that i have two old guys to berate and Lewis ridic well obviously individuals that they picked up so you went through the process per se but I'm like come on it's about finding give me a qualified candidate I got nothing to say and again I would look swell seems like a really good guy.
Excellent panel is very knowledgeable about the sport but when you look at a higher like this.
Unfortunately it put God's like yourselves and others and uncomfy well positioned to some degree maybe because a guy like me is standing up here at pointing out the in equity the man has no experience and because of his great ship with kyle shanahan he gets up six-year deal in the National Football League.
Come on y'all doesn't put me in an awkward position at all I mean i-i've waited but I I appreciate that point of view I would say it's very interesting to me that a team that it spiraled to the bottom of the league partly because they ran a great coach out of town traffic benefits they had a great coach that there's a good argument to make that over a three-year span the San Francisco 49ers were the best team in football in spite of never winning the superbowl like the way the buffalo bills went to four straight and get over that span old altogether they were the best team in football when I was a kid that 70 49ers three years the native to the superbowl they're always in the NFC Championship game they were likely or that entire time the best team in football with a great coach they ran the coach out of town so they spiral to the bottom of the league of their own doing and once you're there Jeff you go out and hire a guy with zero experience you're entitled to do that maybe you strike gold right right but boy you better and it's just even a sense because you gave him a six-year deal it's not working out the last thing niners fans are ever gonna want to hear is well you know you have a six-year contract like if I here too it's a disaster you pick the last four years on that field niners fans are not going to want to hear it right well I'm going to say that the sickness six-year deal i think had more to do with his job at Fox then it did they let the longevity of what their expectations are I think he was in a very very good job he was doing a very good job edit so that picture deal is to cover that he's not going to come for nothing right here and you understand the business side of it to do also think it's a dumpster fire there anyway so you know two coaches you know two years you read out a great football coach although all the traditional ways of doing it have that failed them and it failed terribly the last couple years and so I think as they looked at it they thought how can we actually put this thing back on the rail and your point with the relationship he has with shana hand and it is is inequitable as it may seem and probably is football is a relationship business you know it I know it.
There are a lot of guys who hire their their friends build a good job but yeah you don't mean but you know what i mean so that means that that's the way it always it is it fair it's probably not fair i mean really so important because it is related and Lewis ridic anjanette both guys very talented very qualified gas but i think they went outside the box here and I think they thought if they can get two guys who are like-minded John was gonna walk into I do know him personally I played against him fierce competitor I know him i've been a pro bowls with him I know him personally as well this guy's a grinder.
He is a true grinder by every definition of the word and I'm gonna tell you he will blow you away when you sit down he's got no ego will bring it anybody that he thinks can help this team win and be successful.
The one thing I would say I appreciate about that if he doesn't have all the relationships in the front office that other people are coming to that business with because again it is a relationship business so if you work with a guy you may have promised them hey man when i get it i'm taking you when you get it you're taking me you've got no time like that guy's gonna come in he's been working in an analyst chair he doesn't have those things so he can bring people in that he knows will give him a good shot and having that relationship which was Shanahan if that's the guy that was presented many notes the fallout of you definitely know football but here's the deal.
I've been around the best right bill polian hall-of-famer I've been around a bit.
What made him the best with that he sought his coaches preference and he gave them the ingredients that they felt they would win with it whether it's marv levy tony dungy Jim Caldwell you name it he gave his guys that not every GM does that and john Lynch I feel personally will do that that's what that relationship is so important you're right and and similar to Steve curve there's nothing I mean when I didn't like the fact that Mark Jackson got booted out exactly questions the car like occur with the former champion he was a former general manager it's Phoenix he had aspirations to coach I had an issue with the fact that he got a five-year deal but double the amount of money they paid more Jackson barracks with the coach because again we're talking about the issue of it even though the goal to say words first class organization but i'm i'm bringing up and I'm addressing a point about lunch say that I want the link family to know exactly where I'm not talking about him I'm saying where you are in a lead that has a one-year rule right that is associated with the fritz Pollard alliance that prides itself on being associated with a fair and equitable process right and something like this it's the bus all of that because i don't know you're beautiful that's not right that's what I'm saying is not going to get it okay that ever took AI mean there will be reliable and it didn't seem like you're coming there will be times where like a white guy that had experienced and gets the job right and like here's one of those instances you don't use inexperienced and he got the job and sometimes that will happen and I'm even if the optics are explained and all I'm asking is let me see a black man with no experience right now we're born and raised buddy and I'm good at what I got nothing that great with full credits would have been would have been does selected we have been happy about it yeah front office experience but yeah he doesn't mean we want to get in here former organization right now and they haven't changed at me and he called so Indianapolis retired Chris Ballard who had previously been the chief director of football operations according to pay NBC Kansas City Ballard wanted to move on from head coach Chuck Pagano even though he was given a four-year extension last year under pasado 15 haven't been able to do much for their prize quarterback Andrew left and strapping a number one overall in 2012 luck has committed the third most turnovers in the lead things being drafted max we don't want a special palette interlocking our the cult of ruining his career.
Yes yes they are not like that that's the best way to answer that question yet you know Andrew Luck like can he be the next peyton manning and they're turning them into the next party Manning right it's not fair to edge look who I really think that Rogers the best player football and I don't think it's close I really don't think it's closed apology to Tom Brady expense and Roger muse on a different level I think Andrew Luck and then Tom Brady because these that experience until.
That great Andrew Luck has a chance to replace those guys at the top of the sport it's everything you want from a quarterback even the fact that a little turnover-prone little interception to me says yeah what's the circumstances his team is not often winning he's gotta take some chances i mean i've got to see a guy try to win them worried about his stats anyway so he's that no offensive line precious few resources devoted to the offensive line the defense and great em and they can't and they have an aging running back who is solid but not out not at all three levels i've never had a running back is never an outline right so you're asking him to do it all by himself and he's so great that his first three seasons he won 11 games each time even got two AFC championship game but he can't do it all by himself there frittering away those the real meat of this guy's prime right now and they better get it together is the issue Andrew Luck is five years in the league he's been stacked 156 sounds fact 41 times first generally that's 41 times it's bad move.
32 times another season 27 times another ceases being left behind and you only have you tried the only reason he was sacked 15 times last year because the only played seven games but they never gotten any help.
Here's what makes it worse is accurate value general manager according to the report if the reports that you i do not know but if the reports are true he don't really want to go no to get the job he had to deal he had right he had to deal with Donald for this upcoming season.
See that's another way you mess with the quarterback because again you walk in there and it's clear that the GM that would not be his God know what he asked not here within the future there say gave him and Greg four-year extension ok and now you like bricks are going to you don't want to pay both of them these are the kind of things you don't mess around with what you have a franchise caliber for Tibet that's what are they did that's like mess with Angeles to rear if I'm Andrew Luck these guys don't get it together this year i might want out of it.
Ya gotta get that I don't like hearing us okay here's the thing football's not the vacuum so that so the Grigson Pagano issue that now the Ballard.
Pagano issue it's not going away I will say there have been situations like this where teams have come in and and then force with a coach and that's staying together and things that prospered and they've been successful so there's still potential there.
What I like about it and how I think they are potentially saving his career at this point with bringing Chris Ballard him he gets it right he get he was in Chicago when they don't build a team being in Kansas City he understands an offensive line and protecting your most valuable asset which is andrew luck is going to be on the forefront he also understands what he has in the defense and what have to be fixed as well that's probably his specialty is on the defensive side of the ball but as you're looking offensive Lee this is going to be something that he really can control because baccano is a defensive-minded guy.
Alternatively their strategy have to change these five and seven step drops this nonsense has gotten in Stephen they brought up how many times you've been fact think about how many times he's been hit and we got organs being hard and got our body it's absolutely ridiculous but the game of football is no longer no longer can you play it dropping your quarterback seventh okay I understand Bruce you know ba did it with with andrew luck is it Bruce Arians with his first year with them when he was a young guy and he could take the shot.
You don't last long taking those shots and have taken way too many they are going to have to convince this office understand how important three step drops are think about the Kansas City way right now won the football Alex Smith is getting that thing off with that back foot hits three they have all gone get a good tight in good relationship has gotten way down there but Foster and breed that thing that is your go-to got get the ball back out of the backfield make all these things happen but valor understand that that will potentially thick the offensive issues because right now you talk about internally his turnover issues are directly related to self-preservation why I'm telling you right now I'm back there I'm checking that thing up to I have to get smoked I mean how many times I gotta get hit too late mate he gets it he knows that defense thing to stand up right like me honest about who you are and be thinking about the field either so while i take all the shots so I think the whole presence of Valor being there is going to be very beneficial to have someone next time they're absolutely cannot would I could this guy deserves better now absolutely had your lucky absolutely appreciate having a perspective and going to sing it where you want to be like you.

So here's the deal last week the Cavaliers rejected a train that was spent seven logs to the mix and Carmelo Anthony for the land last night Madison to get a little more interesting and love mix the second half of the Cavaliers win over the thunder with back spasms meanwhile mellow had an impressive game last night forms 45 points in a for overtime loss to the hawks they also found out and did not play in the final overtime tonight point-blank to the Cavs make mistake not training for him i believe they did not said that the other day because I think that mellow is better than Kevin Love with LeBron James I mean obviously you have a situation with Kevin Love is 20 intended no reason to sniffling him he can play arm and I like him a lot but when I think about mellowed being a prolific scorer that he is being an individual capable of creating his own shot and scoring under duress as well mid-range 3.30 lon eccentric cetera I think about when things potentially could break down for Cleveland who can ultimately get a shot that you can make a shot under such the rest I think he's better equipped kevin love to do so but also more importantly max if you remember last week one of the things that pointed to and I said this because I've been hearing this is that Kevin Love I brought up his health everybody look at his numbers and I wouldn't say last week got to look God's saying he's breaking down he looks a bit if the adjutant back I'm gonna jump back i mentioned his back i'm making his knees i mentioned.
Tip what happened yesterday back fathoms and so these are the kind of things even though he's five years younger than mellow he's breaking down the more conspicuous fashion in some people are just been mellow and his game is more predicated on even if it's not the spot upshot he has to bang and get physical mellow doesn't have to do that because of the office of awesome though that he had I think clearly should have seen that since they had them every day and should have pounced on the opportunity to get melo especially since the mix with more than willing to take love I think it will prove to be a mistake ready for this i disagree i say you're wrong even if Kevin love's back means he doesn't play another game this season I don't think you're wrong and this is why look at one with the playoffs approaching in the not-too-distant future you don't treat a piece of your championship nucleus to integrate the high usage player who's an isotope score when really your office is predicated on penetration and three-point shooting so that would be a mistake in the first place but in the second place even if kevin love doctor is good to know what you could add Carmelo Anthony here's the kicker Stephen eh Phil Jackson is doing such a bad job as the president of basketball operations for the next he is so intent on undermining carnellow and humiliating him on the way out of town that it seems to me that field over here if the Knicks even get worse because they get less back in a trade for Carmelo his primary concerns the entity his ego and embarrassing Carmelo even as it depresses Carmelo's trade value therefore you don't need to give up kevin love to get that Carmelo Anthony's the calves were light not to trade them because as you can see from the Clippers proposed deal Phil Jackson isn't even requiring a star back there looking for a 13 to get into that trade a partner so we can just get pieces why give up Kevin log is why you're wrong Kyrie LeBron Kevin Love junior Tristan Thompson those are the guys making money for you on the cavities because of the 22 million mellows making you're going to have to give up those dudes along with the marsh operates Phil Jackson would never take back junior.
He would never take back my shop with those two so as a result that strips your for you got Tristan Thompson you don't need him you might could use him along with us.
Christopher player he's a damn good player what have you but at the same time that's the guy has represented by the same due to represent LeBron James or what have you.
That's not going to happen so love is literally the only tradable commodity that you have because nobody else would entertain it so when you look at it from that perspective that point Dennis the basketball point I think you look at cleveland at the finished product this is who they are I'm saying to you that's who they have to be to be at their best because of the personnel that they have if they were to acquire our Carmelo Anthony's don't you tell me that LeBron James can make that adjustment in other words instead of just being somebody see you kicking it out to a 3 of spot-up three where you get fifty five percent of your sister although you could make the necessary adjustments if you've got Kyrie on one side mellow on the other and you're LeBron James and that's the key I think you gotta remember look Carmelo as an offensive weapon particularly I think the thing about LeBron and the reason he is so much better than everyone else I don't think Kevin Durant is close to him I made the mistake of thinking maybe step it surpassed them not because he was actually better but because the way the game is played today you know the last couple years 7 rigidly last year but I don't think you're close and i'll tell you why LeBron James makes any unit function at optimal efficiency you know so even if it means he's playing on the ball and Kyrie playoff walk off on and both of their staffs are depressed he's making any team he's on function as well as it possibly can.
He would do that for Carmelo Anthony to but is it enough time in a matter of half even to get them ready to win it shall last tour to what you're saying is that you're right about LeBron in terms of what he would bring out of everybody else but you're ignoring the fact that Kevin Durant what everyone else puts me to do himself those one of those situations with here the bra might make those other people more efficient by Kevin Durant identify himself that's what make where I got LeBron alright and tonio Romero most career in dallas seems to be over as the families had a good season very good season with rookie quarterback controversy between being traded to denver broncos have been swirling over the past few weeks now according to change my fav my class and gender is only interested in adding romo if he is a free agent miss Mina Cowboys would have to release him allowing the brothers to negotiate a better contract with and who should have the higher level of urgency here Romo for John Elway well I mean as i told you weeks ago early in the season Roman would have virtually no trade value everyone SAT here tell me how much great value almost that is virtually none for example la going to give up anything for him not because he's not excellent role he's on the field is excellent but he's you know done in terms of health he can't stay on the field for all these very unlikely that keeps going out so there's more urgency for romo obviously because the clock is ticking and all the teams around the league even the sockers have to know whatever you give up for romo you can't really plan your season around and you have to cross your fingers and hope healthy John Elway's the king in denver you have to worry about anything if it's not maybe Philip Rivers will be available if someone better and even if not another quarterback will present themselves.
You don't need romo romo needs him well I agree with you via but I think it's important to ask this particular question what level of urgency did you do to an executive who has the quality of a team that l we add arm in terms of how much life they have left you can't ignore that whether to keep leave with Chris habits and von miller and the crew the reality is that it's very very rare in the day that an executive in the NFL had the pleasure of talent that he has on one side of the ball that so dominant with Super Bowl credentials and then you've got guys on the offensive side of the ball and Emmanuel Sanders Demaryius Thomas ok with chris and coming out of the backfield assuming he's healthy enough to play do you set up the and just go along and feel all comfortable to distribute india will be entering its second year that saw with Paxton Lynch 134 troublesome even though there's virtually plate he's going to say do you sit up there and you lay in the cut chillout be comfortable or do you recognize the level of urgency that you're supposed to have because of the talent that you've assembled saying okay I need.
Peace tony romo can be my modern date or present-day peyton manning five years later this is what i tell them we need all we need you to do is this can you handle that because this is what we're after the level of urgency definitely max is right in terms of Tony Romo getting that ring assuming that's what you want but let's not ignore the level of culpability John Elway has you put the other pieces together you want from the superbowl to not make you got a quarterback you gotta find you gotta find a quarterback.
Alright very important to say i don't know if you know tomorrow on first day Gary 110 who has been my a since the cowboy are eliminated from the plan hey wait because that's why we're about while we're traveling right ya know we're going to talk and we both will probably have plenty to get into him and plenty that we want to discuss with darren one sin because we have we had a feeling that was gonna happen yeah we do come on cowboy a showing up after they lose well I hope you have something for you guys but I think they have a lot to be optimistic about and we can also get a thought of course on Miltonia running situation is going to pay off with Jeff died L actually quantify that their room and I don't give a damn that they agree with you on that.
Insubordination is not a good thing usually it's counterproductive in most specific you get you fired for the purposes of sport you can facilitate you being labeled a prima donna a locker with cancer no doubt compromise in one's marketability which we know is a huge deal in today's climate of professional sports having said all of that i still invited Carmelo Anthony to engage in just that and subordination solely for when it comes to Phil Jackson this is what you do when you've been hoodwinked bamboozled let it straight and tested to run amok all for the Preferences of you sabotaged yourself so the board can have an easy out for his own ineptitude.
In other words is what you do when you work for so Jackson a man who clearly has been interested in working since he arrived in New York it blesses came raining down upon all New Yorkers and Jackson was a skip town today depart with an 80 and 148 records they arrived yet the worst part of it all is that is record is the worst part of him leaked to the media members insinuations that he was forced to give mellow 222 million dollars that it was something he did it really want to do issues involving the triangle top players i don't want to run it.
I don't know how to run it all emanating from the stairs module now not with phil jackson actually on the sideline doing what he did when he locked up and Captain 11 titles riding the coattails of MJ pits Shaq and Kobe you're Kobe again I know he's called any good coach but this is executive talking about you at all.
Did I forget to mention kinda joking no 24 years of 73 million dollars along with an additional 50 million accordingly at the expense of acquiring the way way or how about the fact that this championship coach have to put one single player with championship credentials.
It's not the Knicks locker room ever think about that you're here we are looking at mellow there to play every night it's the questions every night while still looks in the shadows prepping himself a month just to in 45 minutes of questions if you're mella and had to deal with all of this what would you do here's a suggestion just a suggestion.
Instead of saying quote i'm just here so I don't get five.
How about this one mellow should say ask Phil to everything that's kinda is supporting it.
Whoo kid's hey lemonade bringing it like always if you want to see more of our final phase pedal with our facebook and twitter pages leave your comments in going the conversation somewhere even they even have with you on this seems on a female at times because I think he's overrated which I believe you but he is an excellent player given his heart and soul to the city and the peace he worked hard he answers questions every day just as you said he's trying his best and we thought office and he deserves much better than if that Phil Jackson will try to undermine Carmelo to the point where he also undermined the fortunes of the team just to humiliate Carmelo on the way out the door and depressed his trade value it's not fair to Carmelo Anthony who's a hard worker who have done everything asked of him by the city in the team and Phil cannot be the same it's especially when you're not even there to answer the questions ninety-five percent of the time what exactly does Phil Jackson do I mean we know he's the president but what does he do it like they're practically doesn't seem to do anything arguably the greatest coach ever even the argument but but as an executive he's been a failure I was not talking about the coach at all this was strictly about the executive that need to get the hell out of New York as soon as he possibly can and just go over tired something you have your radio show and then you will be headed to houston we will see you there max will be in New York tomorrow and we'll also see you in houston on Wednesday we're looking forward to it so many guests joining us is going to be a great weekend we love having the fans that's the best part when we're on the road but they also i'll have a great day showdown on monday to trouble yourself in the face dirty.
