MUST SEE: 2016 The Year The MSM Died!

##########################################
Hi everyone I'm spero with this week's news but roundtable and this will be the last round table of 20 16 2016 has been a crazy year with so many huge stories and important developments across the board on this episode we're going to take a look at some of the biggest stories of 2016 and what to watch for in 2017 as always I'm joined by the founder and editor of news bud sibel edmonds joining us for this year-end review looking forward to 2017 is Professor Philip kovacevic who hosts his own weekly news but exclusive show called the Russian newspaper monitor and curtain mo who also has his own weekly exclusive show for news but called the geopolitical report now it's great to be here I'm very excited to hear from each of you your take on the biggest stories of 2016 and what we should watch for in 2017 before we do that there was some big news today Obama made some big moves in retaliation for what is being called the Russian hacks of the u.s. election Obama is expelling Russian diplomats from the US now we have the perfect guy to give us the lowdown in the latest on this professor philip kovacevic thank yous to be toronto first of all I'd like to wish a happy new year to all our listeners the best is yet to come for news about definitely all of our listeners are getting the front row seat to big geopolitical events that are taking place in the world and also in different intelligence community's yes you're right spero today uh quite unexpectedly Obama has decided to do something that was typical for the old Cold War so this is in my opinion just another proof or evidence another evidence that we are again in the middle of the cold war with Russia so Obama has decided to expel about 35 Russian diplomats but they're they're essentially intelligence operatives and also I impose further sanctions on the activities or of the Russian government here in the United States i have anticipated this this is why i have been focusing long and hard on the Russian intelligence community and this is going to be one of my unique contributions to the news but in the coming months.
I'm going to take a long and hard objective look at the operations of the Russian intelligence agencies uh I have been studying the history of the KGB operations and one of my first contributions is the article that you talked about which is going to be there which is the analysis of the efforts be press releases in 2016 so I'm looking at what the FSB is officially telling the world as to what it is doing in Russia and in my first article i looked at the counterintelligence counterespionage operations in Russia and I i recommend this article to all our listeners what you'll see from this article is that the FSB which is the Russian law enforcement but also counterintelligence agency within Russia is equivalent to the US FBI did they have they have been able to open eight counter espionage case is uh and and I and I talk about each of them specifically at this issue deal with in the operatives of the Lithuanian estonian and Ukrainian intelligence agencies and military intelligence agencies was very curious is there are no Western CIA or mi6 operative and this tells me it's not that they do not exist because the little tells me that they're using the operatives of these other puppet intelligence services of this pretty much us satellite states around Russia to get at the information they need about the Russian military and interaction.
Government plans for the for the for the future i think the spy wars are identifying and we are seeing that here in the United States to die in terms of Obama's announcement today and what's going to happen in retaliation to this because Russians will definitely retaliate.
So this is definitely gonna be very interested in the story i'm going to be following from the rational perspective and i can assure the news bad listeners and readers that they'll get very very interesting art because in the coming coming months for from me about this about this issue that's right in part 1 of this series is already up at newsone.com you can go there today and read that Philip going into the 2016 biggest stories and how this is going to be relevant and important for 2017 what was on your radar but i was i would say my opinion that there that's really important story is several domestic politics call a more general and the others are more country-specific the first one I would mention the rise of populism populism in Europe are meaning meaning that there is a rebellion against professional politicians against professional political elite in Europe and here in the United States to but also in the east.
So what we are seeing politically is the rise of economic nationalism and the traditional interpretations of law and order.
We've seen we are seeing that in Europe we are seeing this in the UK and also here in United States so so one of the biggest stories for 2016 is the return of populism the number two story is the further fragmentation of the european union with brexit but not only with breast it also with his populist leaders in france and germany in germany and italy i take in front pages of newspapers so this is the train that will that is going to continue in the future and this will mean that the treasure may become more powerful in Europe because the EU as we know is the kind of that that the u.s. creation it was the way to get France and Germany back together but I think these two countries do not need you West took the ledge anymore and what will see them breaking out breaking out on their own independent paths i think this is gonna happen in France with the presidential election coming up in April somebody who was more goal is more independent from united states going to be get going to get elected and then we have germany and in Germany they also forces who will look at the kind of saying the part of the process bureaucrat and saying yes to the German people and to the real national interests of Germany and the last story i would mention it to write the rest of the return of Russia on the under global scene are are within the region is Syria and in this connection i would like to mention at the recent putting phone diplomacy I've been following following it very carefully on the official site of the President of Russia and i can tell you that in the last eight days putting hair has been a speaking intensively with some leaders in the Middle East and let me give you the exact statistics within the last eight days he has spoken to the turkish President aired on three times to the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu three times to the Syrian President Assad to x to the Egyptian President sec2 x to the Iranian president rouhani one time and also he spoke together but Johnny president alia and the prime minister of Greece to press one time so what we see here is its putting becoming a mediator a personal trust for all these leaders who have who have had many conflicts in the past they have all turned to put in to mediate the conflict in Syria but in my opinion and this is very important this is not going to stop is Syria we are talking about the larger plan for the entire Middle East we are talking about the directions being mediators and actors not only Syria but those in Iraq and also in Libya and what's amazing about it is that the United States and the European Union are completely excluded from this I mean this in essence it's the return of Eurasia again the kind of the the Atlantis is Western Europe and United States so I i think i think we are just seeing the the symptoms of it we are not seeing the big picture yet but this this should be my opening to everybody to hear that booty has spoken to all these leaders but not a single time to anybody from the from the EU or United States well that's very telling sign right there and I'm sure you're gonna be all over it and well on top of it so don't forget to check out the Russian newspaper monitor to to stay up to speed with all this moving over to curtain mo tell us what was your biggest the biggest stories in your opinion 4 2016 the most influential that have the potential to carry over an impact and influence what is going to be coming up here very shortly in 2017 yeah well for me you know sitting here in the United States most important story reviews the election of Trump and how he's a wild card as far as foreign policy goes we really don't know i mean prior to his election talked about you know a hard-line that Iran and then the fella Muslim immigrants and on the telephone interview was when he appointed or talk to his advisors were leading neo-cons most notably being john bolton that should have served as a signal to the American people whether you where he expects the foreign policy the united states to go obviously didn't pick Colton you put the guy from exxon and that secretary of state position instead so it'll be interesting to see where he goes with Syria and in particular with this confrontation that's being drummed up in the in the house and senate over Iran and then deal with the nukes looks like he's going to go back into the new council with as far as confronting that you know the the emissaries that the United States has at least and also is supportive of Israel and the settlements that's going to cause a lot of problems as well so for me the foreign policy objectives of the United States and it's coming here and the wild-card of Donald Trump I think he's going to be more or less pulled along by his advisors he's basically you know flip-flop on a couple foreign policy issues for me is going to be watching him to see what he's gonna do well.
Absolutely and that goes right along hand in hand with what Professor kovacevic was saying geopolitically I mean there's there's a lot of uncertainties right now there's new alliances being formed and I have a feeling it's going to be a very jam-packed year full of news we're gonna be very busy and 2017 we also have some clips here that we're going to share from our other news but team members christoph yurman 2016 has been a crazy year have been a lot of important developments but in my opinion to two biggest stories of 2016 were fed coup attempt and turkey and the liberation of a level there's still a lot of debate about what really happened and talky on july 15 but one thing is clear the coup attempt in Turkey really upset the global chessboard it accelerated turkeys report small with Russia and wasn't Turkish relations with the United States and our NATO partners and also affected the war in Syria and eventually contributed to the defeat of NATO GCC back forces in a level on the Syrian government and its allies recapturing a level has been the most significant development in the Syrian conflict since Russia's military intervention in September 2015 it's now clear that form bag militant groups won't be able to topple Syrian President Bashar al-assad and that doesn't necessarily mean that discerning conflict is coming to an end in 2017 but there is some cause for optimism as underlined by the latest ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey and I think one of the biggest things to watch in 2017 are Turkish Russian relations and how does is going to affect the conflict in Syria and another important story of 2017 is going to be the german federal election and it's going to be interesting to see if marker cancer wife another election germany and the latest terror attack and Germany the Italian Christmas attack is going to have a huge impact on german election so this is going to be a very interesting story to watch.
I agree with Christophe from where I stand I think one of the most important developments taking place globally speaking was the attempted coup in Turkey and it's significant in many many many levels and layers of for a lot of people is like so what they try to do it nothing happened we don't know who did it but for people who have been paying attention.
We know exactly who was trying to carry out this coup and again it goes back to of some of the points made by philip i think the United States has gotten to a point of humorous to such level of humorous that is has started his own free downfall and and it's going to be inevitable that down fall and that's going to be on a game so many different fronts whether you're talking about you politically or economically it's it got to a certain level that that just took away any of the risk assessments or analysis before they were doing it's like we are the only bully in the block and we're going to go into anything we wanted and that basically showed in Turkey and that was the failed coup attempt.
And I predicted that coo for the attempted coup close to a year before it took place and I kept saying turkey is not Egypt you know the arab spring or Libya so whatever they have done so far and again unsuccessfully let's say with Libya it's not going to take hole is not going to be successfully implemented in Turkey and I think you know in in history in the past several hundred years at least the modern history you always have this turning point or you have these catalysts and it brings that the shift in global power it brings that shift in the state of the affairs in the world and I think that a attempted coup in Turkey was the start of that of course we had the whole Ukraine deal and what to place you know Russia and the United States what has been taking place and dragging in Syria so i'm not saying that all this Turkish coup attempt made all the stuff happened what I'm saying is as it has been the case with many like the Sarajevo moment that people refer to sometimes certain catalyst makes everything or puts everything in a much higher speed of faster motion and I believe that attempted coup attempt in in in in Turkey was was one most significant one in 2016 and the consequences of that we have been witnessing but it is still ongoing we're going to see more and more and more and those in return are going to trigger other types of developments especially your political those with your political implications so that would be for me the biggest story of 2016 and just two days ago i just read this brief headline about a couple of people dying from Azerbaijan and one person dying in Armenia in the border crashes for this coming year I would say my prediction with.
Be keep our eyes open in that part of the world as well as in the Middle East because i would look at Georgia very closely because NATO's a big price has been giorgia for a while and again depending on how things are going to play out with Trump and that's what Kurt brought up and get death still is kind of a wild card but I would still say Georgia is going to be important that's the country of georgia and keep an eye on that Azerbaijan is very important and especially if we were to see some escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia which has happened throughout the history it's going to be interesting Philip especially with your points on how that would impact the relationship between Turkey and Russia because we know that Azerbaijan has been NATO candidate since 2002 and is completely Western NATO operated CIA operated armenia has been supported mainly by by the Russians like and this is why all the stuff it genocide price you know they tried to block it they don't want to go through.
Well if and when we see more escalation between Azerbaijan and and Armenia then we are going to see turkey taking sides because turkey has had its own historical past with Armenia and if they switch to other by John side that's going to be our get going away from Russia and falling more into NATO's lab but we doubt that I would save you going to see more and more of proximity between Turkey and Russia and Russia bringing Iran into the table which was a very very important development here we are looking at Syria the situation being the brokers of the deal you know and and on the table we have Russia we have Iran we have turkey.
I mean that alone should be considered major major blow to the to the United States and its proxy in the West NATO and and that basically wraps it up for me 4 2016 I think it was a very very interesting year but so many things happening and i agree with a gang Kurt Donald Trump's the hole in that collection and again and what we're going to be seeing in the next few weeks until end of January will be all telling an interesting but that's that's basically it for me for 2016 well as you guys said there are so many stories that we even covered here briefly everything from brings it to trump and everything in between one of the stories that jumped out at me is actually a series of stories that I think are related in one way or another that's the growing theme of cyber attacks and internet censorship the internet as we know it in my opinion may not be around for too much longer as we are witnessing some major moves by numerous different government's taking place and they're all heading in the same direction and that is control and censorship I'm concerned about it the internet I think we're going to see a lot of things take place potential cyber false flags taking place and they're gonna blame it on whoever is appropriate for them to further whatever kind of agenda that they're going to push and pursue and it's ultimately going to lead to censorship no doubt that the internet poses a threat to the controlling the narrative that they want to control the state-run official narrative and to put it out there and sites like news but that are challenging that narrative they don't like and they're going to do everything that they can to try to silence us now sibel 2016 is coming to an end this is where news but was launched in 2016 2017 is going to be an exciting year i'm very excited about news but in our team that we have put together here.
Tell us a little bit about what people can expect from news but here in 2017 actually now that you brought it up i think the most significant development of 2016.
As far as we are concerned was news but because the US but was born and how low I don't know why I didn't even think of that but it's true of the concept we developed be put in place which is one and only there is no other model that even comes close to the model we have both in terms of backing and funding which is 100-percent people funded and being 100-person corporation fries no advertisements whatsoever of unlike so many other websites that mainstream media channels we did not buy into the elections shenanigan feedin that we haven't been publishing anything that in any way I could be considered a sloth we are not in the fluff business we are not in the entertainment business although I have to say some of our programs are quite lively and intense and passionate i was considered those entertaining in terms of discussions or critical thinking but 2017 i believe is going to be even more exciting for news but yes we have added a lease is he's based in Belgium fantastic researcher extremely extremely extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Middle East and nearest he speaks three four languages fluently and of course he is the in the heart of the bc's the NATO is is he's in Belgium here is our newest edition of the news but team ali syed for me 2016 has been punctuated by the utter failure of the mainstream media on every level possible.
I mean already beginning with into intervention intervention is propaganda for NATO and it being eventually obvious that the emissary is actually at the propaganda arm of NATO i would like to point out some of the propaganda sales that occurred for Syria I mean I mean the whole process is very interesting and it was it is a very methodical it started with the interventions propaganda and saying that Assad is not actually a popular president and and the hispanic population are actually revolting against and then they gave it the sectarian twist i mean they brought in all the different sex and all the categories involved in the country the red line which they wanted to cross was the chemical weapons and for me the chemical weapons issue is is extremely interesting because there's still absolutely no proof that chemical weapons were used by the syrian arab army yet the the media just keeps going on and on and on about how chemical weapons we were used and and how he is a bad guy because chemical weapons were used and that and that's why this illegal intervention is it actually a humanitarian intervention you you move on further and in the show that he was starving as people as in what happened in Madaya and I mean they were actually using any pictures of starving children in Yemen and bombings in Pakistan to do to actually show the fact that again he's the dictator and and the Jackie's are are actually the the revolutionaries and again that's another myth that the mainstream media propagator that there actually is FSA and then and moderate rebellion in Syria mean it's a bit like the unicorn I'd really don't believe it actually exists you have this whole propaganda against Syrian allies as well so you have the whole propaganda against Iran again it's Russia against also has blah i mean is it's like they're taking advantage of the fog of war as you say i mean the the anti-assad the Coalition has actually lost so that the propaganda is literally falling apart as NATO but I mean it really shows that Natalie and an MS Mr are linked at the hip one falls down the other one is shown to be a scam it gets sonus areas that they end up using a humanitarian veneers to push their interventionist policies I i think it's it's it's a victory for alternative media this year 2016 has shown that alternative media and and there's been polls as well I've seen that showing that there is no confidence left in the mainstream media again i would like to punctuate that this is my main story that the media is dead not to be trusted and people should get their information elsewhere we are going to make an announcement.
